LOTS TO BE THANKFUL FOR
It’s a complicated, stress-filled world that we live in. But this time of year, I think it’s really important for each of us to stop for a minute and think about the multitude of things that are good about our world—the things for which we are thankful!! Here are a few items that make this pediatrician thankful; how about you? I’m thankful for:
--being part of the best pediatric practice in the county.
--working with the such great doctors and nurse practitioner.
--having a staff of people who really do care for our families.
--being part of a community of families who do want the very best for their children.
--having the feeling that we’re all in this together, all committed to providing the best for our kids.
And then, on a more clinical level, I’m thankful for:
--our reputation in the community for our commitment to immunizations.
--our continuing conservative approach to the use of antibiotics.
--our ability to participate in the community, as in all those sports physicals and the visits to pre and elementary schools.
--our investment in a new electronic medical system for scheduling, billing and record keeping, which should make multiple areas of the office more efficient.
Finally, there are a few things that I would like to be thankful for, maybe next year? I hope I will find myself being thankful when:
--moms and dads worry a lot less about our (incredibly safe) immunizations.
--we finally realize that a “green nose” is part of the normal evolution of a cold.
--cell phones are no longer used when driving!
--parents take the responsibility for television and computer use by their kids seriously.
--we prioritize the health of the nation’s children by providing health coverage for all.
Wow, that was fun. I hope all of you will join me, and take a minute and sit down and enumerate the multiple things for which you’re thankful. I truly hope that Patterson and Tedford Pediatrics will be somewhere on your list.
Best wishes for the Holiday Season!
