Katie Silva is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over a decade of experience caring for children and families. Raised in the beautiful foothills of Northern California, Katie followed her passion for people and community to UC Santa Barbara, where she earned her BA in Sociology—and where she met her wonderful husband.

After earning her nursing degree from Azusa Pacific University, Katie moved to San Luis Obispo in 2012 to join her husband, who was working with the women’s soccer team at Cal Poly. She fell in love with the community and quickly found her calling in preventive medicine, leading her to complete her nurse practitioner training at UC Irvine—where she was honored as Graduate Student of the Year.

Katie began her NP career in pediatrics right here in San Luis Obispo, and she’s never looked back. Her passion lies in walking alongside families, supporting children’s health and development from the very beginning. Whether it's providing well-child care, guidance on nutrition, or helping navigate health challenges, Katie brings warmth, empathy, and a deep understanding to every visit.

After spending several years away with her husband while he pursued coaching opportunities, they are thrilled to return to the Central Coast as he steps into the role of head coach for Cal Poly Women’s Soccer. As a mother of three, including a daughter who has overcome a life-changing injury, Katie’s personal experiences have deeply shaped the way she cares for others—blending clinical expertise with compassion, patience, and heartfelt connection. Katie’s background includes pediatric intensive care training at Rady Children’s Hospital and nearly ten years of experience in both pediatric and family medicine.

She loves building lasting relationships with her patients and believes strongly in the power of preventive care, open communication, and whole-family wellness.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Katie enjoying time with her husband and kids—usually at a soccer game, hiking trail, or beach. She loves staying active, being outdoors, and soaking up everything the Central Coast has to offer.
