It's back to school time!!
Besides buying school clothes and supplies, be sure to get your child on a school schedule about one week prior to their first day. This will help ease the transition back to school. Book those sports physicals now before they fill up and be sure that your child has been immunized for pertussis before the school year starts.

A NEW OFFICE POLICY STARTING JUNE 1, 2010
We are implementing a new office policy starting June 1, 2010, regarding the filling out of various forms. Due to the increase in staff hours for completing school, camp, and sports forms; home health and home therapy forms; letters for school and PE absences; and professional letters we have found it necessary to start charging a nominal fee for completing such forms and letters. The new fees are as follows:
One-page forms (school, camp, etc.): $5.00
Multi-page forms (school, camp, etc.): $10.00
Professional business letter: $20-$100 (based on time)
We require a 48-hour interal to fill out forms. You will be given an invoice and will need to pay for the provider's services at the time you pick up the forms. These charges will NOT BE APPLIED to forms that are presented during an actual office visit or physical exam.
Thank you for your understanding and please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions.
Be sure to use our WebPortal to access information on visits, immunizations, growth charts and billing.

Salmonella
There has been a massive egg recall because of possible salmonella contamination. Salmonella is a bacteria that causes food poisoning. Symptoms may include, fever, vomiting, abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea. This recall has been for eggs produced from Wright County eggs in Galt, Iowa. The eggs were sold between May 16th through August 13th. California, Colorado and Minnesota have been affected. Affected plant numbers are P-1026, P-1413, P-1946 with dates (recorded in Julian form) ranging from 136-225. For example if you have a batch labeled P-1413 138 you should not eat them. Several supermarket chains have been sold the contaminated eggs, check with your local store to see if they are one of them.
It is important to note that Salmonella poisoning is treated with supportive care and not usually with antibiotics. NOT EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE SEEN FOR THIS. If your child is having symptoms of Salmonella (not just been exposed) please contact the office.
